The Technical Committee is established under Section 13 of the KCGS Act No. 11 of 2018 and serves as a crucial governance body for the Kenya Coast Guard Service. The Committee comprises senior government officials and heads of key security and maritime agencies, ensuring coordinated policy oversight and strategic direction.

Reporting Structure

The Technical Committee reports to the Council

Committee Responsibilities

Policy & Financial Advisory

Advise the Council on policy and financial matters relating to the Service.

Management Oversight

Oversee the management and administration of the Service.

Review Reports

Receive and act on the reports of the Director-General.

Advisory Functions

On reference to it by the Director-General, advise the Director-General on any matter.

Recommendations

Make recommendations to the Council on any matter relating to the functions of the Service.

Additional Functions

Perform any other function conferred on it by KCGS Act or any other written law.
